Hertz steps up safe driving initiative
Dubai, April 4, 2011
Hertz UAE, a leading car rental firm, has augmented its fleet with the introduction of the 2012 Volvo S60 sedan, hailed by driving experts as one of the safest cars to drive.
“Road accidents in the UAE fell 21 per cent from 2009 to 2010 and we want to play our part in making sure that trend continues,” said Nigel Johnson, managing director, Hertz UAE.
“Bringing in more vehicles with the most technologically advanced safety features can only help, and this is part of our ongoing policy to support moves to reduce the number of accidents,” he added.
The sporty five-door 2012 Volvo S60 sedan has groundbreaking safety features such as the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), a statement said.
This causes sensors installed in the vehicle’s side mirrors to monitor the sides of the vehicle and alert the driver with a pair of warning lights when another vehicle enters the blind spot.
Part of the Al-Futtaim Group, Hertz UAE has also made airbags and anti-lock braking systems (ABS) standard across its entire range of cars, SUVs and trucks.
All Hertz cars are fully insured and undergo a 40-point quality check-up prior to rentals, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
