The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi has launched a new free bus service "Hail and Ride" in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, said a report.

The service in its pilot phase will start in Mussafah for free, reported state news agency Wam.

The new service will transport the public from different sectors in the area to the main bus stops there. The service is available every day from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm within specified routes, it said.

This service will contribute to the improvement of the public transport network, officials said.

DoT said it strives to regulate and improve the transport network by following the best international practices that mainly support the economy of the emirate.
