Twin tremors rock Saudi Arabia, no injuries reported

Saudi Arabia on Saturday reported an earthquake and a chain of tremors in the south of the country, but there were no injuries and no damage to buildings, reported the Kuwaiti News Agency, Kuna.
The new quake, measuring three degrees, the second in hours, hit Al Namas Governorate in the southern region Asir, the Saudi Geological Survey, SGS, said in a statement. It was recorded at a depth 5.4 km.
At dawn on Friday, the authority monitored an earthquake in Al-Namas at a depth of 9.1 kms. No damage was reported as a result of the two quakes, stated the report, citing a top official.
Hani Zahran, the general-director of earthquakes and volcanoes at the SGS, confirmed that a chain of tremors had hit Al Namas since Friday dawn.
However, he ruled out major quakes urging residents to pursue their daily life as normal, said the Kuna report.
On October 17th, the survey authority reported a light quake at the Red Sea, off Jeddah, it added.
