Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship enters quarter finals stage

MANAMA, January 18, 2017

The organizing committee of the third edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship has announced the commencement of the Quarter Final stage for participating Bahraini companies.

Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Chairman of Economic Development Board, the awards have received over 140 applications in all categories, marking an impressive 20% increase from the previous edition, shared Mr. Faisal Sultan, project manager of The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship.

The organizing committee received numerous applications on all categories from mid-November to end of December, with the majority of applications submitted by Start-Ups, said Sultan.  

The six awards categories include:

  • Microenterprise of the Year;
  • Start-up of the Year;
  • SME of the Year;
  • Sustainable Business Award;
  • Enterprise of the Year with International Footprint; and
  • Female Entrepreneur of the Year

“A rigid screening of application forms is underway, conducted in compliance with the Award’s evaluation criteria,” added Sultan.

The quarter finals stage is dated to take place from January 1 to 24, where the technical committee will be evaluating the applicants in order to shortlist candidates towards the selection of semi-finalists per category, which will begin on January 25.

The Awards enjoy the support of strategic partners which include Economic Development Board, Bahrain Development Bank and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry with knowledge advisors led by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Tourism, EY Bahrain and UNIDO AICEI. - TradeArabia News Service
