Turkey video surveillance market to top $750m

NEW DELHI, September 21, 2015

Rising construction activity, increasing terrorist activities and security threats have spurred the deployment of video surveillance system in Turkey, a report said, adding that the market is projected to touch $759 million by 2021.

While Turkey is featured amongst the top leading countries in adopting the IP based Surveillance system, it also accounts for largest market share in all the Middle-East video surveillance market, both in terms of revenue and volume, added the report entitled “Turkey’s Video Surveillance Market (2015-2021)” by 6Wresearch, a global market research and consulting firm specializes in niche and emerging markets.

Prijo Samuel, senior research analyst, 6Wresearch, said: “Over the years, Turkey has been witnessing a key trend i.e., shifting from analog to IP based surveillance systems. Additionally, rising IT infrastructure and IT spending in SME sector is also created substantial market opportunity for video surveillance players.”

He added that the Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) HD surveillance cameras is making strong footprints in Turkey due to increasing deployment at major public and secured areas.

Akash Shukla, research associate, 6Wresearch, said: “Turkey would witness growth in video management and video analytics software due to upcoming smart city projects in Elazig, Aradhan, Kirsehir and Istanbul.”

“Despite lethargic demand for analog video surveillance system, hybrid digital video recorders (HDVR) are increasingly used along with analog surveillance systems to utilize IP surveillance systems features,” he added.

Top companies in Turkey video surveillance market include Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems, Honeywell, LG, Mobotix, Panasonic, Pelco by Schneider Electric, S2 Security, Samsung Techwin, and Sony, according to the 6Wresearch report. – TradeArabia News Service
