Experts to assess Bahrain rights watchdog

MANAMA, September 6, 2015

International experts are set to assess Bahrain’s main human rights watchdog for the first time since its inception.

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), which was formed in 2009 to draft reports, hold conferences and promote rights, is seeking accreditation from the United Nations-affiliated International Co-ordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions (ICC), reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
