Asians held over drug smuggling in Bahrain

A number of Asians suspected of possessing and smuggling narcotics have been arrested in Bahrain, in four separate cases.
Two kilos of heroin and marijuana were seized, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The general director of criminal investigation and forensic science said yesterday the initial investigation revealed that the suspects were planning to smuggle drugs through Bahrain International Airport and others were waiting to assist them in drug dealing.
He said that after confirming the information, the Public Prosecution was notified and investigation led to identifying and arresting the suspects.
Some of the suspects had hidden the drugs in their bags, while others had hidden heroin in capsules in their intestines. He said the cases had been referred to the Public Prosecution. - TradeArabia News Service
