Foodpanda acquires food delivery business in UAE

Global online food delivery company foodpanda has acquired food delivery business 24h.ae in the Middle East, targeting the region as the next high growth market in the food delivery sector.
The 24h.ae, which is active in the UAE, provides the most convenient way to order food in seven cities: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
It was founded in 2011 and will continue with the current management and team, as well as the strong 24h-brand it has developed over the years, said a statement.
It currently co-operates with more than 700 restaurant partners, including major brands like Subway, Wendy's , Domino's, Johnny Rockets, and Pizza Express.
Foodpanda is already active in Saudi Arabia and Jordan with its hellofood.sa and hellofood.jo brands, respectively, it said.
