Fashion show at Emerge, in BurJuman
Emerging trends on show at Dubai fashion event
DUBAI, December 15, 2014
The style-studded Emerge winter fashion event at BurJuman in Dubai, UAE, continued this weekend with a second round of dance performances choreographed to highlight the hottest emerging trends for the winter season.
Taking the stage were a range of popular brands including Escada, said a statement.
The label treated shoppers to an exclusive look at trendsetting women’s wear looks from the season, underlined by the brand’s timeless trademarks of modern elegance, cool glamour and sensual femininity, it said.
The second Emerge weekend concluded with two shows by up-and-coming Dubai-based design talent Feiruza Mudessir.
Launching her new Afro-Retro collection from her Finchitua by Feiruza label, the original take on fusion fashion dreamt up by this promising designer proved why she is emerging as a name to watch in the region, said the statement.
Characterised by a mélange of diverse themes, her creations struck a chord with audiences – combining the statement impact of contemporary staples such as denim with refreshing Ethiopian finishes, inspired by her native country.
Nicola Flifel, the fashion stylist for the Emerge shows, said: “Unlike regular catwalk displays, BurJuman’s Emerge has brought to life winter trends with upbeat choreographed shows that see dancers performing to high-energy soundtracks.
“This lively format has given an excellent opportunity to highlight street-style fashion - a look that’s bang on trend in Dubai this winter. I would like to congratulate BurJuman on hosting a fashion event with a difference, providing a platform for both established names and new talent to share their collections in an exciting and unconventional way.”
Other brands that showcased emerging trends for the winter season included Saks Fifth Avenue, DKNY, Marina Rinaldi, Liali Jewellery, Lacoste, Marc Cain, Cerruti, Kenneth Cole, and Rivoli – Hour Choice and EyeZone. - TradeArabia News Service
