The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex), the world’s leading joint defence exhibition, has sold 100 per cent of the exhibition space for the 2015 edition which will take place in February in Abu Dhabi.
Idex 2015, welcoming investment firm Tawazun as strategic partner, will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from February 22 to 26.
Saleh Al Marzooqi, Idex chief executive officer said: “We are overwhelmed by the response Idex 2015 has already received from our partners and exhibitors. A platform like Idex is a unique opportunity for the industry leaders to showcase and highlight the innovations and technologies that put Abu Dhabi on the forefront of the defence industry.”
Over two decades since its inception, Idex has expanded enormously and introduced both Navdex, the region’s largest maritime defence exhibition, and Umex (Unmanned Systems Exhibition), to take place alongside the core Idex exhibition.
In the first hour of opening the online registration website, Idex 2015 received over 700 requests from industry professionals across the world, a statement said.
The total naval defence spending in the Gulf and western Indian Ocean is likely to reach $76.4 billion between 2010 and 2019. Driving growth in the naval defence sector, Navdex provides a dedicated platform focus on maritime security bring together the latest innovations and technology to the forefront.
Umex provides a professional platform for manufacturers to meet operators and establish lucrative business relationships while promoting the ecological, environmental, civil and humanitarian benefits of unmanned systems.
Idex, in January 2014 announced that it was experiencing the highest level of demand from industry for exhibition space in the event’s two decade history. Over 90 per cent of available exhibition space was reserved by exhibitors a year in advance for the 2015 edition. – TradeArabia News Service
