Malaysia kidnap victim to return home
Manama, February 19, 2014
Bahraini student Ali Ahmed Al Nashaba, who was kidnapped in Malaysia and later released, will arrive in Bahrain today (February 19).
Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa personally called Al Nashaba's family to inform them of his release, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The 20-year-old was abducted by three men on January 28 from Linton University in Kuala Lumpur, where he studies electrical engineering.
He was found by Royal Malaysian Police on Friday following a city-wide search in co-operation with Bahrain's Foreign Affairs and Interior Ministries.
Al Nashaba's parents handed over a BD3,000 ($7,914) ransom last week, but it is understood the kidnappers did not take the money. - TradeArabia News Service
