Bahrain to crack down on money squandering

The government has renewed its resolve to crack down on public money squandering in Bahrain.

The pledge was reiterated as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH the Premier has already launched an initiative aimed at promoting self-auditing at government departments and public establishments.

The session described the step as crucial to better deal with the reports issued by the National Financial and Administrative Audit Court.

The ministerial committee for financial and economic affairs is now studying and analysing remarks featured in the audit court report for 2009.

The panel, which was commissioned by HRH the Premier, will submit its findings before the Cabinet soon.-TradeArabia News Service
