Dubai, May 10, 2010
The UAE leads in the GCC with 32.7 per cent of newspaper advertising space as of 2009, said a study.
Advertising expenditure in the UAE for 2009 touched Dh1.5 billion ($408.4 million) and forecasts suggest that there would be a compound annual growth rate of 11 per cent until 2013, according to the Media Index Data 2009 published by Ipsos, a global market research company.
With this background, a leading networking and educational resource platform for media and marketing professionals will discuss the new avenues in advertising being explored in the region.
The sixth edition of the Media and Marketing Show (MMS) will be held from December 13 to 15 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
MMS 2010 recently tied up Al Arabiya news channel, the leading Pan Arab news channel, as broadcasting partner for the second consecutive year. Ipsos Mena, one of the region's leading media research agencies will also be working with MMS 2010 as their research partner.
“Our collaboration with MMS last year was great particularly with the successful forum that attracted the biggest telecom operators in one big debate”, said Nasser Alsarami, head of media at Al Arabiya. “We look forward to a successful partnership this year.”
Maysoon Abulhoul, managing director, Domus Group, organisers of MMS, said: “We are expecting participation to grow by 20 per cent over last year. This year’s event will highlight key trends that will shape the future of the media and marketing industry.”
“The informative response from past events has helped us enhance our programme this year,” she added. – TradeArabia News Service
