ARN names programming head

Dubai, April 19, 2009

Arabian Radio Network (ARN) has appointed Fiona Munro as the new programming director for City 101.6FM, the award-winning station catering to Hindi-speaking listeners from the Indian Subcontinent.

Munro brings with her over seven years of experience in radio, both as a presenter and a core programming executive in India. She has participated in the launch of two successful stations, Red FM Kolkata and Fever 104FM Bangalore.

Fiona has also hosted numerous shows in varied formats as a presenter. As a key player in the launch of TV channel Neo Sports, she derived industry expertise in driving broadcast tune-in.

'We are confident Fiona Munro will be an excellent fit at ARN. With her fresh outlook, she will invest the radio station with further creativity and verve that are the hallmarks of City 101.6FM,' said Mahmoud Al Rasheed, general manager of ARN.

In addition to City 101.6, the ARN bouquet includes HIT96.7 for Malayalam speakers. It additionally comprises Al Arabiya, Al Khaleejiya, and Noor Dubai in Arabic; as well as Virgin Radio, Dubai Eye, and Dubai 92 in English.-TradeArabia News Service
