Dubai, April 13, 2009
Crystallized – Swarovski Elements, a product brand for Swarovski crystals, honoured the winners of its Crystallized Young Designers 2009 awards on the final day of the Dubai Bride Show (DBS) 2009.
The DBS 2009 took place from April 8 to 11 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
For the award, both student designers and amateurs were inspired by Crystallized – Swarovski Elements’ “Gypsy Rose” theme, a topic that resulted from the intensive research of the Crystallized trend team.
The team provides continual support for the fashion and jewellery industries by releasing detailed trend predictions in time for each of the traditional fashion seasons.
The Young Designers award participants were invited to explore their own creativity by designing a wedding dress in line with the colorful Gypsy Rose trend.
The finalists, 10 from fashion schools and 10 amateur designers were each provided with an assortment of Crystallized – Swarovski Elements to incorporate into their final design, the results of which were on display at the DBS 2009.
A select panel of judges, leading figures from the Middle East fashion industry, was given the task of selecting the winners in both amateur and student categories.
In the amateur category, Edwin Jesus was awarded the runner up spot, whereas Jihae Yun received first place for her creative design.
