Stylish end for Dubai fashion event
Dubai, February 12, 2009
A fashion conscious crowd witnessed the Dubai Fashion 2009 finale at the Madinat Jumeirah on Wednesday (February 11).
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum – wife of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The final of three couture evenings took on an African jungle flavour as high-end multi-brand retailer, Etoile La boutique, took to the runway to showcase their collection.
The fashion show’s spectacle was dotted with African music legends and Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s voices in the Arena Ballroom as models catwalked to African rhythms.
Alessandro Dell’Aqua, Antonio Marras, Hussein Chalayan, Lie Sang Bong, Sharon Wauchob, Karl Lagerfeld, Cher Michel Klein and Christian Dior were some of the top designer brands featured in the finale.
“We are extremely proud of what has been achieved this year, with the participation of cutting-edge design houses and internationally renowned multi-brand retailers,” said Suhaila Gobaash, events manager of the Dubai Shopping Festival office. “Dubai Fashion 2009 is further confirmation of our proud commitment to establishing Dubai as the undisputed fashion capital of the region.” – TradeArabia News Service
