Top author speaks at Zain seminar
Manama, March 4, 2008
Best selling author, world-renowned management consultant and the recipient of many international awards Dr Stephen Covey visited Bahrain for a unique one-day seminar organised by Zain.
Covey is undoubtedly one of the worlds most respected and admired business thinkers today. During the workshop attended by over 200 senior Zain managers from across its 22 operations in the Middle East and Africa, Dr Covey covered many key areas on how Zain personnel can increase their effectiveness, professionally and personally, helping them to succeed by unleashing their power to focus and execute on their top priorities.
“This really is a marvellous, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring Dr Covey right into the heart of the Middle East for him to share with us with his insights and innovative ideas that have already helped shape not only today’s business world but his deliberations on family-life are also a key source of inspiration. I would suggest that most, if not all, business people today have, at some time, turned to his books and publications for insights and fresh ideas as a source of business or personal success,” said CEO of Zain Group Dr Saad Al Barrak.
Dr Covey is the recipient of many awards ranging from International Man of Peace to the National Fatherhood Award and an internationally respected leadership authority, family expert, teacher, organizational consultant and author who has dedicated his life to teaching principle-centered living and leadership to individuals, families and organizations.
Dr. Covey is probably best known as the author of the international bestseller, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that was named the #1 Most Influential Business Book of the Twentieth Century. Other best sellers include First Things First, Principle-Centered Leadership, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families.
“I was delighted to be invited here by Zain and very much looked forward to meeting and talking with Dr Al Barrak and Zain personnel. This is an exciting part of the world with so much vibrancy and growth – not least of all from Zain - and I hope today’s presentations and ideas can play some role in contributing to the continued successful business growth for the company,” said Dr Covey.
“It is not everyday we get the opportunity to have such a distinguished and influential guest in our midst and the chance to receive such valued advice and input that we can take back to our respective businesses. We are hopeful that coming from today’s event we will have fresh ideas and insights that will help us in our goal of becoming a top-ten global mobile telecommunications company by 2011,” said Dr Al Barrak. – TradeArabia News Service
