Vuclip opens 'Music Garage' for Middle East expats
DUBAI, April 9, 2018
Vuclip, a PCCW media company, and the leading premium video-on-demand service provider for emerging markets, announces its first-ever Original series targeting South Asian expats in the Middle East.
Titled Music Garage, the programme will be seen on Viu, its leading OTT (over-the-top) Video service, said a statement from the company.
Produced by Elite Films, Music Garage is an eight-episode series that will shine the spotlight on six aspiring bands and singers handpicked from across the region.
The artist line-up includes performers, originating from UAE, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Turkey and Tajikistan, who will perform in the South Asian languages of Hindi and Urdu. The show, which began on April 7, will be published on a weekly basis.
"Launching Music Garage is a prominent milestone for Viu and is a testament to our mission to create compelling content for specific audiences in this very diverse market. Music Garage also gives us an opportunity to profile great talent in the region that might otherwise not have the benefit of this exposure,” remarked Wesam Kattan, VP (Content & Brand Marketing) at Vuclip Mena.
"One band and a singer from a line-up of six participating bands and singers, will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent in each episode. The seventh episode will recap all performances and the grand finale will feature the most voted male singer, female singer and the top voted band," explained Kattan.
"Performances will be open to public voting from the first to the seventh episode. Viewers can tune into 106.2 Big FM radio to catch exclusive and candid interviews with the performers and viewers can also share their votes via a WhatsApp message to the station," he stated.
To garner increased traction in the region for the artists and reach the largest possible audience, the show will be simultaneously broadcasted on Zee TV Middle East and on &TV Middle East, the leading Indian TV channels in the region, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
