UAE developer opens green community mosque

DUBAI, November 5, 2016

Diamond Developers, the real estate company behind The Sustainable City - the region’s first fully operational and integrated sustainable community in Dubai - has announced the official opening of its eco-friendly mosque.

Spread over 460,000 sq m, The Sustainable City is located in Dubailand on Al Qudra Road. It offers the three pillars of sustainability; Environmental, Economic and Social, across one all-inclusive and comprehensive community landscape.

Providing a full array of residential luxury facilities and amenities that have no negative impact on the environment, the City is a unique concept that redefines sustainable living through its energy efficient housing, green education and health care, eco-attractions and a full range of indoor and outdoor leisure activities.

The green mosque, which has a total floor area of 10,000 sq ft and caters to a capacity of 700 worshippers, was officially inaugurated by a delegation from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments.

The mosque is designed to integrate innovative technologies to minimise its environmental footprint, which is part of an alignment with the Dubai’s Green vision for a sustainable future, said a statement from the company.

It incorporates latest green smart technologies to deliver efficient energy by reducing energy usage by 90 per cent, car parks covered with solar panels, along with indoor and outdoor climate control.-TradeArabia News Service
