Anghami hits 30m downloads milestone
BEIRUT, October 11, 2016
Anghami, one of the leading on-demand music platforms of the Middle East, said it has surpassed 30 million downloads of its iOS and Android mobile applications, as well as 33 million registered users.
These figures mark a significant milestone for Anghami - highlighting that while the company is a mobile-first service, its traction and growth is still accelerating and a growing segment of users listen daily using the web and the recently launched Windows & Mac desktop apps.
While Anghami's main focus is the Middle East, over 5 million of its users use its products from far over the oceans to keep up-to-date with the music back home as well as to reminisce to the childhood tunes, said a top official.
"The 30 million milestone is yet another indication that Anghami is the real connection between users and artists in the Middle East," remarked its CEO Eddy Maroun.
Anghami (Arabic for 'my tunes') is the first music streaming platform for the Middle East and North African (Mena) region, said Maroun.
"The product updates we've been doing the past year and our offerings with the artists and the various telcos in the region have paid off and we plan to work harder to connect the music lovers as well as the availability of our premium offerings in the months to come," he added.
The success of Anghami reaffirms its market leading position, and its major role in driving music and entertainment in the Middle East.
Anghami is available through a variety of platforms including smartphones, web, tablets, desktops, smart watches, Apple TV, Chromecast, Sonos and more to come, stated Maroun.
Anghami's growth mirrors the success of streaming as well as mobile growth with consumers seeking easy to use applications that offer music, videos and entertainment in one product, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
