DUBAI, October 10, 2016
The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) held a meeting yesterday (Oct 9) to review the organisation’s 2017-2021 strategic plan, focusing on promoting the skills of Emirati women and enhancing their capabilities.
The Board Meeting was led by Mona Al Marri, chairperson of the Board of Dubai Women Establishment. It also reviewed DWE’s various achievements in the past years.
The Board highlighted the positive impact that the ‘Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2016’, the biggest and the first event of its kind to be held in the Mena region, has made on advancing women’s empowerment in the region. The event saw the participation of over 3,000 local and international attendees that included prominent thought leaders and decision makers from across the region and the world.
Al Marri said: “DWE’s achievements reflect the creative spirit behind its projects aimed at promoting women’s participation and leadership in development. These projects, which have made an impact not only in the UAE but regionally as well, have encouraged us to launch further such initiatives. Enhancing women’s capabilities through innovative initiatives continues to be a top priority for us. Our new five-year plan will feature fresh strategic directions for realising our larger vision.”
The meeting also discussed Dubai Ladies Club’s 2016 achievements in offering an environment for women to develop themselves and providing superior wellness and recreational services. The Board highlighted the Club’s continuous efforts to support women’s well-being in various areas of life through its services and state-of-the-art facilities. – TradeArabia News Service
