DUBAI, September 7, 2015

McDonald’s UAE has raised Dh300,000 ($81,678) for Beit Al Khair Orphans via a Ramadan book campaign.

Now in its seventh consecutive year, the campaign inspired people to spread kindness through buying a large range of kids’ books throughout McDonald’s restaurants across the UAE during Ramadan.

McDonald’s UAE sold over 60,000 of the specially created books reflecting the Ramadan spirit and human values such as family and friendship bonds, parental love, and teachers’ respect.

Walid Fakih, general manager of McDonald’s UAE handed over the cheque of Dh300,000 to Abdeen Taher Al Awadi, general manager of Beit Al Khair Society at a recent ceremony in Dubai, UAE.

Fakih said: “We are very pleased about the impressive support of the thousands of people who participated in the Ramadan Book Campaign. This truly has been a month of sharing and spreading kindness. Raising the large amount of 300,000 Dirham for orphans and investing in their education with the Ramadan Book Campaign strengthens our determination to support Beit al Khair Society in securing a better future for orphans.”

Al Awadi stated: “Seven years ago, McDonald’s UAE and Beit al Khair have joined forces to offer solid educational platforms to orphans in the UAE. As a long-term partner, I very much appreciate McDonald’s UAE for the efforts they have put into this initiative, and the commitment they are showing to supporting our organisation.”- TradeArabia News Service
