Mercedes-Benz wins Arab Luxury World PR award

Luxury automotive brand Mercedes-Benz said it was honoured at the Arab Luxury World PR Awards held last month in Dubai, UAE.
The second edition of the Arab Luxury conference launched a special awards ceremony honouring the region’s leading contributors to excellence and innovation in public relations (PR) and brand communication of the luxury sector.
The awards were judged by a panel of expert luxury marketers reviewing PR and brand communications campaigns released between April 2014 and March 2015.
Mercedes-Benz won the ‘Luxury Automobile and Services’ award in recognition of its two-stage PR campaign, said a statement from the company.
The multi-stage Mercedes-Benz campaign ran between November 2014 and February 2015, and highlighted the AMG sub brand’s distinctive “Driving Performance” DNA, it added.
The first stage offered select media and VIP customers an exclusive opportunity to preview the new Mercedes-AMG GT S in the presence of the Mercedes AMG Petronas team at an exclusive event on the eve of the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, said the statement.
The event was organised in partnership with Emirates Motor Company (EMC), Mercedes-Benz general distributor in Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group, it said.
The second stage comprised of a highly exclusive track driving event – the AMG Performance Tour – enabling VIP customers and select media to experience the full range of Mercedes-AMG vehicles on the racetrack at the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking on the win, Dirk Fetzer, director sales and marketing at Daimler Middle East & Levant, said: “Ensuring our brand is always in the lead entails hard work, planning and continuous investment.”
