News publishers meet in Dubai rescheduled to April
DUBAI, February 17, 2015
The annual meeting for news publishers in the region has been rescheduled to take place on April 15 and 16 in Dubai, UAE.
The 10th WAN-IFRA Middle East Conference was originally planned to be held on February 18 and 19, said a statement.
The future of publishing is taking place right now, and this conference is expected to draw some 350 publishers, chief executive officers, managing directors, chief editors and other senior media executives to Dubai to take stock of their current operations and look ahead to see how their organisations might look and work in 2020.
In addition to speakers from Jordan, Dubai and Saudi Arabia, the event will feature presentations and case studies from Finland, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, India, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and the US.
Some of the confirmed speakers include Princess Rym Ali, who founded the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) in 2007; Tomas Brunegård, president of WAN-IFRA; Arunabh Das Sharma, president of the Times Group in India and an expert in handling business strategies across a range of markets and platforms; Kerry J Northrup, a career journalist and international media executive who specializes in prototyping the future of journalism; Le Quoc Minh, editor-in-chief of VietnamPlus; Sithikorn Wongwudthianun, photo producer and in-house UAV pilot for The Bangkok Post; and Samir A Husni, Ph D, founder and director of the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi’s Meek School of Journalism and New Media. - TradeArabia News Service
