DMI launches new service for Dubai Sports Premium
DUBAI, November 27, 2014
Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), a leading media organisation and TV broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, has launched a new subscription OTT service for registered users, according to a report.
The users will be able to access its Dubai Sports Premium TV channel, said the Emirates News Agency (WAM) report.
"The new service launch is a real addition in the context of DMI's pursuit of providing advanced levels of cutting edge digital services to improve the level of interactivity between the public and DMI diverse media channels to degrees not seen in the region before." Heba AlSamt, director of Digital Media for TV and Radio in DMI, was quoted as saying.
He stressed that the Digital Media Department for TV and Radio in DMI is always keen on keeping up with latest developments and the leap of the digital world, where subscribers are able to sign up for the service using their mobile phone provider billing and, upon subscription, will be able to gain live access to televised league matches, and many other televised non-sporting events, on their desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, including iOS, Android and Blackberry tablets and smartphones.
"The Digital Media Dept. will run the monthly subscription OTT service during the 2014-2015 football season, with the ambition to add additional new subscription OTT-TV channels and VOD [video-on-demand] services in 2015,” AlSamt added.
