Omo, Comfort launch clothes donation drive

Dubai, July 9, 2014

Omo and Comfort have rolled out their annual Ramadan community campaign across the UAE in partnership with Red Crescent and other local charities.

The ‘Share A Touch of Love this Ramadan’ is a clothes donation campaign across the UAE that encourages people of the region to donate clother to those less fortunate than themselves during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation booths are being installed in four malls in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent and local charities, who will distribute the apparel collected to refugee camps around the region.

Waqas Javed, marketing director, Foods, Refreshments and Home Care – Unilever Gulf, said: “Unilever is delighted to continue its long-standing community event; encouraging the people of the region to share a touch of love this Ramadan with Omo and Comfort.

“The success of this campaign year on year has been incredible and with the increased scale of activity; tripling the size of the initial activation taking it to 28 additional days of collections in addition to a dedicated number for collecting clothes from people’s homes, we look forward to even more donations being received this year as part of the Ramadan charitable acts.”

Mohammed Abdullah Alhaj Al Zarouni, general manager of the Dubai brand of the UAE Red Crescent, said: “Since its launch, the Red Crescent works to promote the spirit of unity and compassion among community members, and thanks to the support of Omo and Comfort, for the fifth year in a row, we are collaborating together to assist those families who are in need during the holy month of Ramadan.”

The campaign will run across Mirdiff City Centre until July 15 and at Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre and Lamcy Plaza until July 22. - TradeArabia News Service
