UAE digital signage set for 23pc annual growth
Burnaby, British Columbia, March 25, 2014
The UAE digital signage market is projected to grow at a CAGR of around 23 per cent during 2014-19, primarily due to growing retail, travel and tourism, and hospitality industries as well as Dubai hosting World Expo 2020, a report said.
The market is expected to further grow due to emerging next-generation technologies of video wall, 3D digital signage, cloud access digital signage and smart digital signage, added the recently published TechSci Research report "UAE Digital Signage Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019".
The demand for large screen display screens in malls, retail outlets, etc. is also witnessing a robust growth.
Samsung, LG and Toshiba are the leading suppliers of digital signage in the UAE, the report said, adding that these companies are heavily dependent on digital signage imports from China, Japan and South Korea.
The report highlights that digital signage can support various display formats such as pictures, video, TV broadcast, animation, web pages, texts, MS power-point, MS-word, MS-excel, PDF documents, etc.
Further, digital signage also allows displaying multiple messages at the same time on the screen and can be used both in indoor and outdoor applications.
The report reveals that the demand for digital signage is rising due to increasing marketing expenditure, growth of high definition (HD) market, interactive communication, animations, growth of Out of Home (OOH) advertisement, etc. Further, the market growth is also being supported by expansion of organized retail sector, shopping malls, tourism, airports, etc.
The country is set to host World Expo 2020 in Dubai, and the government plans to invest more than $24 billion for organizing this Expo. This creates a huge platform for digital signage players to promote their solutions and systems in the exhibition, said the report.
"In the UAE's digital signage market, display segment accounts for the highest revenue share, due to increasing trend of large size screen,” said Karan Chechi, research director, with TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.
“The segment is expected to continue its dominance over the next five years, on account of growing video wall and 3D digital signage market. The demand for LED displays is projected to witness fastest growth over the forecast period."
