Oman channel suspends broadcaster
Muscat, February 24, 2014
The Oman Sports Channel has suspended its broadcaster for five days for violating its terms and conditions, said a report.
Khalid Al Shukaili, the broadcaster said he had received a message stating that his services were not required for five days because he was working against the ‘interests’ of the government-owned channel, said the Gulf News report.
The decision came after Al Shukaili raised the issue of repeat telecast, poor quality of the studio and justified the absence of an employee who did not receive money for overtime.
He was questioned by the Legal Committee of the Public Authority for Radio and Television for his criticism about the quality of work and the absence of the employee, said the report. - TradeArabia News Service
