Du to launch new reality TV show

UAE’s fastest growing telecoms company du said it has launched a new reality TV show mainly targeted at the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that gives them a chance to win up to Dh2 million ($544,500).
The new television series launched by du comes is in line with the company's plan to nurture small businessses, the company said in a statement.
Called “The Entrepreneur”, the show is yet another first from du in the UAE. It is proudly a homegrown entrepreneurial reality TV show that intends to empower entrepreneurs to venture into creating new businesses in a sustainable manner, the statement added.
Conceptualised by du, the show is aimed at both existing ventures that need recapitalisation for growth as well as high impact business ideas requiring start-up capital.
The show gives entrepreneurs in the UAE an opportunity to turn their business ideas into reality by offering financial and professional support.
'The Entrepreneur' is to air on Dubai One, a part of Dubai Media Incorporated, as the exclusive broadcaster and du has commissioned the internationally acclaimed Sony Pictures Television Arabia as the producer of the show.
Unveiling the show, Hala Badri, executive VP, Brand and Communications, du, said: 'We are convinced there are many good ideas out there which needs to be heard and, which needs to be promoted. The UAE is brimming with fantastic entrepreneurial talent which just needs a platform to take it to the next level.'
The show, said Badri, aims to empower and support the new breed of UAE entrepreneurs that build new enterprises which are innovative, sustainable and, most importantly, contribute meaningfully towards the social development of communities.

The show offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to compete for a Million Dirhams in cash investment and unmatched professional services and support towards their business, said du in a statement
An eminent jury comprising Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of MBRE, Nisreen Shocair, president of Virgin Megastore, Mena, Yogesh Mehta, founder and MD of Petrochem and Muna Al Gurg, director of retail, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group will scan the entries.
