Marks & Spencer has unveiled its AW18 Modest Collection which offers curated designs across contemporary wardrobe essentials mixed with exciting and eye-catching statement pieces.

The collection is a considered approach to silhouette, fabric and colour combinations for easy-to-wear pieces with high attention to detail finishes for stylish and feminine dressing across the season. The 40-piece collection is the biggest to date with autumn and winter collections offering defined colour palettes and silhouettes.

Rich magentas and emerald greens offer autumnal pieces to start the season, statement pieces include a contemporary take on the shirt dress and tunic with feminine floral prints that can easily be styled with wardrobe essentials such as the high neck jersey top or legging. For a chic and versatile look, high neck dresses have been given the addition of a metallic neckline and metallic sports stripe panel detailing for a chic look with subtle sports detailing. The everyday kaftan has also been elevated for the season with signature prints and sleeve detailing to add impact to a simple silhouette.

For winter, the colour palette moves to darker tones of navy offset with caramels and sepia tones. Versatility takes centre stage with chic dresses in flowing, easy-to-wear styles featuring on-trend polka dot and leopard prints. The sports inspired aesthetic also flows through across dresses, tunics and trousers with stripe panel detailing, offering an on-trend finish.

The curated designs within the Modest collection have been inspired by customer feedback and demand for longer hemlines, high neck tops, dresses and long-line tunics offering a clean silhouette with detailed finishes on ankles and sleeves. Essentials in both the Autumn and Winter collections are enriched with a cool comfort finish to regulate body temperature throughout the day whilst investment pieces have a high-quality finish for a tactile feel that’s soft on the skin.
