Award-winning designer World Tricot makes GCC debut

MANAMA, April 23, 2018

Artisan Chic design house, World Tricot, will be making its GCC debut at Interiors Expo 2018, the biggest integrated business-to-business showcase for the interiors sector in the Northern Gulf region, which opens in Manama.

The Interiors Expo 2018 will be held under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain from April 24 to 26 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, said the event organisers Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE).

At the three-day event, the French design house and confection, world renowned in global fashion and haute-couture; will be promoting its handmade upholstery, luxury hotel linens and designer luxury clothing range for their brand Angele Batist.

The very discreet Carmen Colle, President of World Tricot has built a reputation befitting a doyenne of French craftsmanship more than 30 years of luxury experience.

The company was awarded the coveted "Living Heritage Company", accolade by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of France for its craftsmanship and industrial excellence.

A revolutionary in her industry and role model, Colle once produced collections for Yves Saint-Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Hermès, Christian Dior and Gucci (more than 60 luxury brands). She always takes up the challenges successfully, with her execution showing innovation movement and delicate architecture.

“Interiors Expo provides a major platform for us, our interior pieces, and our designer luxury brand of Angele Batist, to service the domestic and commercial consumers in Bahrain” remarked Colle.

“We want our customers to have their dreams and wishes come true and feel very happy to wear our unique handmade work,” she noted.

The World Tricot workshops is located in Lure in Haute-Saône in eastern France. The skills and crafts of the handmade are utilized in the creation of Angele Batist pieces. The workshops is an homage to crafting and embroidering merino wool, alpaca, angora, cashmere, silk linen and lots of luxurious raw materials from all over the world.

“World Tricot was developed on the ancestral know-how of our workshop for knit, mesh and embroidery and we have put these skills at the service of the creation and imagination,” remarked Colle.

Bill Gaytten, the artistic director for Maison Galliano, said: "In our luxury world of fashion and with the exigence of haute-couture, we need workshops like World Tricot."

“Passion for quality, transparency and team work,” she added.

HCE Managing Director Jubran Abdulrahman said: "We are excited to host the designs of World Tricot. Ms Colle has created World Tricot out of her passion for painting and art. This is seen in her, Angele Batist designs."

"Angele Batist expertly emphasize world culture, coupling this with their high quality and luxury, they are an excellent example of the creativity on display at Interiors Expo," stated Abdulrahman.
