Khaled Al Melhi appointed CEO of Injazat

ABU DHABI, January 22, 2017

Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi investment and development company, today appointed Khaled Al Melhi as the chief executive officer of Injazat Data Systems, a regional IT managed services market leader wholly owned by Mubadala.

The announcement follows the retirement of Ibrahim Lari as the chief executive officer of the company. Lari will remain on board as a strategic senior advisor to the newly elected CEO.

Al Melhi  currently serves as chairman of Injazat.

“Khaled Al Melhi brings critical leadership experience and a fresh perspective to Injazat – vital as ICT continues to develop as a cornerstone sector in the diversification of our nation’s economy,” said Homaid Al Shimmari, CEO, Aerospace & Engineering Services (AES) at Mubadala. “Ibrahim Lari’s commitment to Injazat has been unparalleled, and I am delighted that we will continue to benefit from his guidance, experience and insight as a strategic advisor to the Injazat leadership team as they drive the growth of this pioneering homegrown success.”

Al Melhi was previously CEO of Bayanat, a national leader in the provision of mapping, surveying and geospatial services and a subsidiary of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), the integrated national defence platform. He has established expertise in the ICT sector through his time as chairman of Injazat, as well as his role as head of the UAE Armed Forces Military Survey Department’s Photogrammetry department, researching suitable Geographic Information Systems.

Lari has been with Injazat for over 10 years and was instrumental to the inception of the company in 2005. During his tenure, key highlights include opening the first Tier IV Data Center in the Middle East, building its tier-one partner network, as well as overseeing the expansion of the company to its current position as a leader in the IT managed services market.  - TradeArabia News Service
