Asus ME launches micro-ATX motherboard

DUBAI, July 14, 2015

Asus Middle East, a unit of the Taiwan-based IT products maker, has announced a compact, feature-rich micro-ATX motherboard for small-form-factor (SFF) builds and equipped with two-way graphics power at full x16 speed.

The X99-M WS also offers the latest USB 3.1 connectivity and built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi for wireless data-transfer speeds of up to 1,300Mbit/s.

It also has an M.2 connector that supports both 60mm (2260) and 80mm (2280) storage devices, plus Asus-exclusive 5-Way Optimization technology that dynamically optimizes multiple system parameters for best performance — all with a single click.

Based on the powerful Intel X99 chipset, X99-M WS is the first Asus micro-ATX with PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 slots able to accommodate up to two dual-slot graphics cards.

The new motherboard supports both two-way Nividia Geforce SLI and AMD CrossFireX configurations, making it an excellent choice for graphics professionals who depend on powerful graphics in areas such as design and modeling, medical research, plus processing-intensive simulation and rendering applications.

In addition to graphics cards, extensive expandability offers ample room for RAID cards, PCI Express-based solid-state drives (SSDs), video-capture cards and many other popular components.

With the latest USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A connectivity built in for the very fastest USB data transfers, X99-M WS enables data-transfer speeds of up to 10Gbit/s — or twice as fast USB 3.0. The next-generation standard is completely backward-compatible with existing USB devices, so users are able to use existing equipment and be all set to enjoy USB 3.1's breakneck speeds. Asus-exclusive USB 3.1 Boost technology automatically accelerates USB 3.1 performance even further.

X99-M WS also has built-in 3x3 (three transmit, three receive) 802.11ac Wi-FI for wireless speeds of up to 1300Mbit/s, plus an M.2 socket that accommodates the solid-state drives for ultra-fast data transfers.

Systems built with X99-M WS are smarter with 5-Way Optimization, another Asus-exclusive technology.

It dynamically optimizes essential aspects of the system based on real-time use, ensuring superb processor performance, everyday energy savings, ultra-stable digital power, cool and quiet fans and networking and audio settings that are tailored for preferred apps — perfect for gaming, entertainment, productivity or just about anything else. – TradeArabia News Service
