Mobily’s 4G network sees 270pc growth

RIYADH, July 5, 2015

Etihad Etisalat Mobily, a leading telecom operator in Saudi Arabia, has reported a 270 per cent growth rate in the average of transferred data on its 4G network during the month of Ramadan this year as against the same period of last year.

Mobily explained that it has succeeded in doubling the coverage rate of 3G network, as well as adding new capacity to network through applying U900 technology in the main cities.

This technique works to increase the coverage area through the use of low frequencies enables 3G signal to penetrate strongly within the communities and improve the quality of service to all customers, said Omar Al Omar, senior executive officer, Network Design at Mobily.

“We take the responsibility to increase the capacity of Mobily network in line with customer’s requirements, and we are fully aware that the network infrastructure is the backbone that enables us to continue the company's operations successfully,” he noted.

“Customers’ experience represents one of the important pillars that come on top priorities; therefore we were so keen to use U900 technology and bring many technical developments that improve the customer experience in Mobily,” Al Omar added.

Mobily is working to intensify all efforts to cover the rest of the populated areas of the Kingdom with 4G network LTE-4G, in addition to enhance it in areas that have been covered earlier, Al Omar highlighted.- TradeArabia News Service
