AIG deploys latest Microsoft platform

Amman, April 30, 2013

Jordan-based Airport International Group (AIG) has become the first company in the Kingdom to deploy the Microsoft Lync Server 2013, the company’s latest enterprise-ready, unified communications platform.

Designed to enhance everyday productivity, Microsoft Lync 2013 provides a single client experience for effective real-time communications that includes voice and video calls, Lync Meetings, contact status indicators, instant messaging and reliable chat.

By integrating Lync 2013 into its IT infrastructure, AIG enables its employees to communicate securely; stay connected with customers and colleagues regardless of their location; use multiple devices ranging from PCs to phones and tablets; and limit time spent traveling between sites for meetings using a variety of connectivity features such as Multiparty HD video conferencing and desktop sharing.

“Flexible and unified communications are key to operational efficiency, which is why we at AIG have invested in Microsoft’s latest enterprise solution. Lync 2013 not only simplifies our IT setup, but it also enhances our employees’ collaboration capabilities, mobility and productivity,” said Kjeld Binger, AIG’s chief executive.

“As a leading airport management company, AIG is responsible for critical processes that require dynamic handling. This makes it imperative that we leverage the best tools and software available on the market to ensure robust operations. Microsoft Lync 2013 gives us this edge, and we are very pleased with the results we have achieved so far.”

AIG’s corporate information technology team has deployed and currently manages a Lync Server 2013 for more than 100 employees, in collaboration with professional advanced infrastructure solutions (Pais Solutions), the first Microsoft gold certified and Lync voice-specialised partner in the Mena region.

Zeid Shubailat, Microsoft’s North Africa East Mediterranean and Pakistan marketing and operations manager, said: "With Microsoft Lync, companies can improve their speed of doing business in many different ways. Knowing if people are available or not or at their desk or not. Being able to send a quick message through instant messaging and getting an immediate reply.”

“Being able to instantly share documents, presentations, or the entire PC all serves to improve speed of doing business. To think what the ability of knowing a persons’ ‘presence’ on its own is a huge efficiency boost. Imagine when full collaboration happens with a click of a button,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
