Primus launches Bahrain operations

Telecoms and software solutions company Primus launched its Bahrain operations last night.

The ceremony, under the patronage of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shakih Ahmed bin Ateyatala Al Khalifa, was held at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.

Hundreds of guests including ministers, government officials, and representatives from NGOs and the private sector were present.

Speaking on the occasion, company chairman Abdulaziz Al Turki said the efforts of the of Bahrain government towards creating a sound base for business in the Gulf region and for promoting technological advancement have been instrumental in the success of the company's Bahrain operations.

'Primus Bahrain will work hand in hand with the government and the private sector, enabling businesses and institutions alike to expand and enhance their processes and outputs, while guaranteeing profitability and returns on investment,' he said.

He highlighted the importance of the information communication technology sector and said what made their world so interconnected was the work they do - including the easy transfer of knowledge, and the accessibility and access to information.

Primus Bahrain is a Bahraini-Jordanian-Saudi collaboration, and a subsidiary of Primus, a regional solutions and information technology company headquartered in Amman, Jordan.

Primus Bahrain's managing director AbdelKarim Abu Jaber said Primus' experience in the region has been one of success and accomplishment.

'We have created complete solutions which have gone a long way in helping the operations of governments and leading corporations,' he said.

Bahrain is the ideal setting for the company's expansion in the Gulf, serving as a model for modernisation and openness on several fronts, and providing a good environment for the introduction of new technologies in the region, he added.

Earlier in the day, the company management, led by the chairman, held a Press conference at its Seef headquarters to detail the company's Bahrain strategy.-TradeArabia News Service
