Etisalat inks City of Arabia deal

City of Arabia, an upcoming retail, residential, commercial and entertainment destination in the heart of Dubailand, has tied up with Etisalat for provision of advanced telecom services on its fiber optic network.
Mustafa Galadari, executive co-chairman of City of Arabia and Ghanim Al Marri, deputy general manager, Etisalat (Dubai region) signed a partnership agreement last week.
As per the agreement, Etisalat will connect City of Arabia, through its advanced fiber optic network and provide high speed Internet services, mobile broadband services besides landline, GSM and infrastructure services, to the residents and commercial establishments in City of Arabia.
City of Arabia, is an upcoming destination in the new Dubai, with four key elements – the Mall of Arabia, one of the world’s largest malls, Restless Planet, theme park, earth science museum and planetarium; Wadi Walk, a water front residential community and Elite Towers, a group of 34 impressive commercial and residential buildings.
Slated for a phased launch towards the end of 2011, City of Arabia will eventually have over 32,000 residents.
Commenting on the partnership, Galadari said, "City of Arabia aims to become an upmarket destination for residential, commercial and entertainment purposes. Our vision is to create a techno-savvy community, where technology is leveraged in every aspect of the planned development."
"Our partnership with Etisalat will enable us to accomplish this objective and enable our customers to enjoy the most advanced services for both individual and commercial usage," he remarked.
For commercial and retail establishments, Etisalat will provide high speed fixed and mobile broadband services, enabling them to achieve higher productivity at affordable prices.
Etisalat will also provide broadband internet, fixed line and GSM mobile broadband services to the residential community, opening infinite new options for home entertainment such as high definition (HD) video service quality and clarity, video on demand (VoD) and Online Gaming.
