SonicWall launches advanced firewall

Dubai, March 15, 2010

SonicWall, a leading secure network infrastructure company, has launched an advanced firewall for the enterprise delivered with application intelligence and intrusion prevention system (IPS).

SonicWall also announced a portfolio of virtual security appliances as part of its vision to deliver dynamic security for the global network. These new offerings underscore SonicWall’s commitment to deliver intelligent solutions providing real time adaptation as organizations change and protect against evolving threats.

SonicWall’s vision for a secure future combines comprehensive network protection capability with security policies linked to dynamically identified users, applications and content, a statement said.

This approach liberates network owners from the straightjacket of statically defined networks which deprived them of the choice to move to more effective network architectures.

The newly announced network security appliance (NSA) E8500 enables enterprises to take advantage of technology trends such as Web 2.0, converged communications and mobility without compromising performance.

SonicWall protects the network against damage by proactively block threats while giving network owners the total application control they need to increase overall network performance and efficiency, the statement added.

“As technology has changed so too have the threats that look to exploit new vulnerabilities,” said Matt Medeiros, president and CEO, SonicWall.

“The speed at which cyber criminals attack susceptible points in a network is staggering and while traditional security measures have been sufficient in the past, that is no longer the case,” he added.

“Our vision of dynamic security compels us to deliver solutions designed to remain one step ahead of the threats and, in some instances, repel the attacks before they happen.”

Today’s enterprises are also challenged with capitalizing on technologies such as virtualization, cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS) to overcome the previous “one-application-per-server” model.

SonicWall’s suite of virtual security appliances enables enterprises to take advantage of scalable security solutions while taking advantage of equipment optimization and lower costs.

SonicWall’s vision of dynamic security for the global network leverages the SonicWall Grid network, comprised of millions of end points that provide continuous communication, feedback and analysis.

SonicWall’s threat center processes this real-time information, proactively delivering defenses through dynamic updates to repel emerging threats, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
