3Com names new country manager

Dubai, June 9, 2008

3Com has strengthened its presence in Egypt with the appointment of Yasser Ali as country manager with immediate effect.

Based in Cairo, Ali’s main priorities will include delivering high quality service to 3Com’s partners and customers in Egypt, developing key strategies to support partners, and increasing awareness of 3Com’s secure converged networking solutions portfolio.

“Egypt is a very important market for 3Com, and with Yasser’s appointment we are indeed excited about the future.  This appointment is part of 3Com’s overall expansion in EMEA,” said 3Com EMEA general manager and vice-president Mike Ansley.

“With four consecutive quarters of revenue growth under our belt, we are growing our direct sales force across the region to support channel partners and increase customer intimacy.  Along with our recent in-housing of customer support, this gives 3Com much closer contact with our end-users and enables us to provide better service.”

Ali joins 3Com from Al Babtain IT Group where he was regional general manager, managing a team of 180 employees.  His appointment at 3Com was marked by the start of a roadshow across the Middle East, starting in Cairo.

Attended by partners and customers, the roadshow enabled 3Com to provide a full update of its latest enterprise offerings and product portfolio. – TradeArabia News Service
