PCCW, du in MPLS network service deal

PCCW Global Limited has signed a network service agreement to interconnect with du, the new telecommunications services provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

PCCW Global is a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications provider, PCCW Limited.

PCCW and du will assist each other in meeting the surge in demand for international connectivity by linking their networks to address markets in the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Europe and mainland China, as well as Hong Kong and other parts of Asia.

The co-operation to establish an MPLS node in Dubai will extend PCCW Global’s global infrastructure into one of the Middle East’s key markets, as well as allowing du access to PCCW Global’s extensive worldwide network.

du’s chief executive officer Osman Sultan said the strategic alliance with PCCW Global formed an important cornerstone for the company to leverage on and benefit from each other’s strengths. 

"As a result of the partnership, our customers will benefit from PCCW Global’s MPLS-based global network while our presence in the Gulf will offer enhanced reach to PCCW Global and its customers.
