9 killed in India steel plant blast

Nine people have been killed and several injured in an explosion at a steel plant in India's Chhattisgarh state, according to media reports.
The injured, most of whom are reportedly critical, have been rushed to a local hospital, senior police officials were quoted as saying in an Indian Express newspaper report.
The Bhilai Steel Plant, operated by state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is in Durg district, around 30 km from state capital Raipur.
The explosion took place in the gas pipeline connected to the coke oven section of the plant, said the report.
The plant said that nine people had lost their lives while 14 others are undergoing medical treatment.
