Saudi-led forces intercept missile targeting Makkah

RIYADH, October 28, 2016

The Command of the Coalition Forces supporting the Legitimate Government of Yemen yesterday (October 27) announced that they intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Iranian-backed Houthi militias.

The missile was launched from Saada province toward the Makkah area, said a statement.

Saudi air defence was able to intercept the missile and destroy it about 65 km from Makkah without causing any damage on the ground. There were no injuries, it said.

The coalition air forces launched a strike on the missile's launch site, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
