Inchcape Shipping Services expands operations to Arica, Chile

DUBAI, 7 days ago

Inchcape Shipping Services, a global leader in port agency and maritime services, has announced the opening of its newest office at the strategic port of Arica in Chile.

This expansion is a significant milestone for Inchcape, positioning the company at the heart of South America’s northernmost port, close to the Peru border, and at the gateway to an expansive hinterland encompassing parts of Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Arica Port stands out for its versatility in handling a broad spectrum of cargoes, including minerals, fertilisers, goods for human consumption, gasoline, oil and project cargo. It also serves as a captivating destination for cruise ships. The port is celebrated for its proximity to enchanting natural attractions such as the Azapa Valley, Lauca National Park, and Chungara Lake, situated high in the Andes Mountains, making it a key maritime hub and a pivotal point of interest for the shipping and cruise line sectors.

Range of services
Starting September 1, 2024, the newly inaugurated office in Arica will extend Inchcape's comprehensive range of services to include the tanker, dry bulk, liner, cruise and ship management sectors. With coverage of the Arica Port (TPA) for Containers, Cruise Ships and General Cargo ships, along with the COMAP (COPEC) and SICA-SICA (YPFB) Buoys Terminals for Tanker Ships operations, Inchcape is well-positioned to cater to the diverse needs of these maritime industries.
