Madayn wins ISO quality management certification
MUSCAT, December 31, 2018
Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn has earned ISO 9001:2015 Certification for its quality management system following an external audit conducted by the international TUV SUD Company.
This makes Madayn one of the first Sultanate’s government bodies to receive this certification, which is the latest edition by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
Hasan Al Marhoon, director general of Planning and Business Development at Madayn, said: “Madayn’s Directorate General of Planning and Business Development, represented by Quality and Development Department, has made significant efforts to adopt the necessary mechanisms in this regard through disseminating awareness on the concepts of quality management systems among all the employees.”
He added that Madayn gives high priority to developing the human cadres through offering training programmes and an ideal work environment for the employees. “This has positively reflected on the competence and capabilities of the employees who are playing a great role in taking Madayn towards greater goals and achievements,” he stated.
Al Marhoon noted that Madayn has developed a systematic strategy to include the head office, Knowledge Oasis Muscat and all of Madayn’s industrial estates in the scope to obtain the ISO 9001:2015 since the beginning of 2018.
“We have emphasised on the significance of implementing the requirements of the internationally-recognised quality management system through using advanced management methods. Accordingly, this contributes to enhancing the quality of the services offered to Madayn’s investors and clients, and emphasises on its objective in attracting foreign investments and localising the national capital,” he added.
Basil Al Murazza, director of Quality and Development Department (Management Representative), said that this achievement confirms that Madayn is following international standards in facilitating and documenting procedures, ensuring the provision of suitable services, measuring the satisfaction of clients on a regular basis, preparing risk register, and dealing with risks in a professional manner by establishing mechanisms to control them.
ISO 9001:2015 is one of the major international certificates to review management systems based on the conformity of documents with the actual management process. This shall assist Madayn to carry out periodic internal audits to constantly maintain and develop the quality level. – TradeArabia News Service
