Oman Data Park highlights cloud solutions

Oman Data Park (ODP), the first localised cloud service provider in the sultanate, is offering IT services on demand.
ODP currently manages three data centre’s located in KOM, Wattayah, and Duqm. These three are interconnected to provide resilience, interconnectivity of data and business continuity, said a statement.
ODP held a roadshow in Sohar showcasing the latest cloud, security, AI and IT managed services.
The key topics that was covered at the roadshow held at Crowne Plaza, Sohar on November 26, were Security services, disaster recovery and the new artificial intelligence applications.
At the event, participants got to witness cutting edge technology that can empower to increase productivity and accomplish work quickly and easily.
Said Al Jahwari, business development manager made a presentation on ODP profile and Services, while Nicholai Georgiou, sales team lead presented SAP Business One application that integrates all core business functions in companies such as accounting and financials, sales, customer relationship management, project management and so on.
Unlike many other small business solutions in the market today, SAP Business One is a single application, eliminating the need for separate installations and complex integration of multiple modules.
The SAP Business One application is for the SME’s, normally with fewer than 1,000 employees and 300 users. The other presenters were, Fayez Al Balushi, pre-sales team lead, who spoke on ODP Managed Security Services and Artificial Intelligence Services, Amjed Khalil, Cloud Account Manager presented ODP Cloud Services.
Ankit Rajpal, territory manager – Oman and Bahrain, explained about Veeam Hyper-Availability Platform.
He highlighted that the intelligent automation expects to boost the need and securely meets the demand across the multi-cloud world, reducing risk and accelerating innovation. Veeam Cloud Connect, he said makes it easy for Veeam customers to extend their infrastructure readiness to the cloud by sending their virtual and physical backups and VM replicas to a Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP), or to their own infrastructure.
Dell EMC made a presentation on its Cloud Platforms. The largest data centre challenge that the CIO’s faced in 2018 was in developing a multi-cloud strategy. The VxRail management platform, VxRail Manager, is a tactical advantage for VxRail and reduces operational complexity.
With VxRail Manager, upgrades are simple and automated with a single-click. You can sit back and relax knowing you are going from one good known state to the next, inclusive of all the managed software and hardware component firmware.
Currently, ODP is serving around 450 corporates ranging from large to mid to small companies. They include the big banks and the major oil and gas companies in the country. ODP serves some of the prominent companies both Local and International as well.
ODP’s new data centre in Duqm provides a diverse set of services such as ICT colocation, IT-managed services, cloud services and disaster recovery services. Along with the Duqm data centre, the company has launched the version 2 of its cloud services.
