12 Bahraini entrepreneurs to pitch plans at event

MANAMA, April 5, 2018

Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen revealed that 12 Bahraini entrepreneurs will participate in Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 taking place tomorrow at the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort in Riffa.

Hosted by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister; and HRH The Prince Andrew, Duke of York, in partnership with Tamkeen, the event aims to guide, help, and connect entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses from across the kingdom with potential supporters, including CEOs, influencers, investors, mentors and business partners, said a statement.

The Duke of York founded Pitch@Palace in 2014 to provide a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of entrepreneurs, it said.

A total of 17 entrepreneurs were selected to attend the Pitch@Palace Boot Camp held in March, where they received guidance on how to develop and hone their pitch, it added.

Of the 17 entrepreneurs, 12 have been selected to give a three-minute pitch to an influential audience from the worlds of entrepreneurship, technology, media and investment at Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0.

Only three winners will be selected by an audience vote and will be invited to pitch at Pitch@Palace Global, which takes place at St. James's Palace in London, UK, in December.

One of the three winners will be selected using the People’s Choice Award: https://www.pitchatpalacebahrain.com/peoples-choice/

Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, chief executive, Tamkeen, said: “Hosting this event for the first time in Bahrain will directly contribute to supporting the country’s national efforts towards growing entrepreneurial opportunities in tune with the latest international trends.”

“Bahrain’s commitment to supporting the global entrepreneurship community is underpinned by its contributions to international initiatives, including its recent nomination to host the Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2019, which attracts influencers from over 170 countries around the world,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
