Defense College team learns about Jafza role
DUBAI, April 30, 2017
A delegation from the UAE National Defense College recently visited Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone (Jafza) to get first-hand information about the key role played by DP World and Jafza in the development of the Dubai and UAE economy.
The 70-member delegation, headed by Major General Staff Pilot Rashad Al Sa'adi, the commander of the college, was received by DP World Group chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem and senior officials, said a statement from the organisation.
Welcoming the delegation, Bin Sulayem praised the role of the college in preparing the nation’s military leadership of the future.
He said that such visits helped participants develop and enhance their research and evaluation capabilities in an interactive environment, which is vital for them to be able to plan national policies and take strategic decisions on national issues in the future.
Bin Sulayem outlined the role played by DP World and Jafza in developing and sustaining the national economy.
He said: “We seek to enhance the value of global trade and contribute to the knowledge economy, promoting economic diversification in the UAE in preparation for the post-oil era.”
“In line with the objectives of the Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021, which reflect the leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, our company continues to expand development and operations of ports and free zones across the world to enhance the UAE’s role in the global economy,” he added.
A detailed presentation was given to the delegation highlighting the incentives and facilities available to entrepreneurs together with an overview of home-grown and international companies which have helped transform Dubai into a global trade and logistics hub serving the Middle East, Africa and the CIS.
Bin Sulayem also presented Major General Staff Pilot Rashad Al Sa'adi with a memento of the NDC’s visit, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
