Ithraa aims to develop business relations at AIM
MUSCAT, April 3, 2017
Oman-based Ithraa, a leading inward investment export development agency, is discussing lucrative business deals and in an effort to open new markets for Omani goods and services at an ongoing trade event in Dubai, UAE.
The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), a three-day investment conference and exhibition, which opened yesterday (April 2) will conclude tomorrow on April 4, at the World Trade Centre.
The high-profile Omani delegation includes Ithraa, Port of Duqm, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Special Economic Zone Authority of Duqm will participate together on a large Oman pavilion, said a statement.
Sayyid Faisal Al Said, director general of investment promotion, Ithraa, said: “In collaboration with public sector partners we are engaged in an unprecedented effort to strengthen Oman’s global economic standing.”
“Our collective presence at the event has been specifically designed to help the sultanate expand its international reach, as well provide event attendees from over 30 countries with information on the investment opportunities on offer in Oman,” he said.
AIM is the Gulf region’s premier foreign direct investment event attracting corporate leaders, policy makers, venture capitalists, bankers and consultants from across the world to discuss strategies on attracting foreign investment and connecting businesses and countries willing to engage in sustainable partnerships, it added.
Al Said noted: “I can tell you with great certainty that colleagues participating at the event are fully committed to doing everything possible to enhance Oman’s international business connections and attract foreign investment.”
“Indeed, we will be aggressively marketing Oman and making sure the event’s attendees know that thanks to the sultanate’s strategic location, incredible talent pool, first-class ports, free zones and industrial estates there’s no better place in the region to grow a business and compete in the burgeoning markets of Asia, Africa and beyond,” he added.
Feedback from recent Ithraa trade and investment missions to India, Italy, France and the UK clearly indicate a genuine interest from the international business community in learning more about the business opportunities on offer in Oman, particularly in manufacturing, fisheries, mining, tourism and logistics, it stated.
“We stand ready to work with partners to achieve our common objectives and bring growth, jobs and prosperity to Oman,” Al Said concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
