Dulsco, Port of Fujairah host safety training session
DUBAI, December 29, 2016
Dulsco, a regional leader in human resource solutions and waste management services, and Port of Fujairah together hosted a training session on ‘Safety Leadership’ for industry professionals across the UAE.
Industry leaders from the port and leading names across the industrial and manufacturing sector came together for the session which enabled them to collectively gain the desired knowledge on spearheading safety practices and standards in their organisations, a statement said.
Moreover, the training also provided them with the correct tools to further enhance industrial safety standards. Over 45 industry leaders from different emirates joined the event.
Mohamed Hassan from Port of Fujairah, said: “This was a great platform to upgrade ones knowledge on safety practices and network with professionals from the industry in Fujairah.”
“Port of Fujairah is pleased to be associated with this important safety initiative. We are hopeful that the new ideas discussed at the session will not only benefit the industries and its employees but also the other companies in the region,” he said.
“This event will ensure that excellent safety procedures are being implemented in employees’ day-to-day duties and we look forward to conducting such events in the future along with Dulsco,” he added.
The practice of safety brings physical, emotional, environmental and financial benefits to the table. The safety training workshop was conducted by distinguished consultant Colin Moffat of the International HSE Council.
The session on ‘Safety Leadership’ was well received by the participants who were awarded certificates on successful completion of the programme.
The session gave participants insights on the leaders’ responsibility to set standards, implement safety plans and build a positive safety culture.
Prakash Parab, director HR Solutions, Dulsco, said: “Last year, our company joined hands with the Port of Fujairah to host an event highlighting safety at worksites where industry leaders shared best practices in safety to encourage peer learning.”
“After the overwhelming success of the Fujairah Industry meet last year, we are pleased to host the current event without partners,” he said.
“As leaders, the responsibility of the employees’ safety lies in the organisation’s hands. This thought had influenced many partakers to join the training session and discuss and address safety issues within the working environment,” he added.
Dulsco also organises its QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) Week every year. With over 300 events ranging from fire drills, quiz, safety talks and other initiatives. The event successfully addresses the importance of QHSE amongst Dulsco’s 12,000 employees across UAE and Qatar.
Mahdi Mohamad, director - institutional support and government and corporate affairs at Dulsco, said: “We are part of the human resources and environmental solutions industry sector. Our company considers the safety of its employees of utmost importance.”
“The company recognises the importance of a safe environment and constantly strives to protect the health and safety of its employees at all times and in all circumstances,” he said.
“We were pleased to have Moffat for the training session. He is a highly respected and experienced Health and Safety Consultant. He has been in the safety profession for over 30 years providing consultancy services and running a diverse range of health, safety and environmental courses to oil and gas, industrial, manufacturing, hospitality and various other sectors,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
