Exova signs testing agreement with Tata Steel

LONDON, September 22, 2016

Exova, a global testing, calibration and advisory services provider, has won a contract with Tata Steel to deliver bespoke in-house testing over the next three years.

Worth over £1.4 million ($1.82 million), the deal will see Exova provide mechanical, metallurgical, chemical and corrosion testing, as well as non-destructive testing on-site at Tata Steel’s facility in Deeside, Wales.

The work being undertaken as part of this agreement is performed according to Tata Steel’s specialist requirements, and is the extension of a relationship between Exova and Tata Steel that stretches back over 10 years, an Exova statement said.

Rona Lorimer, ‎general manager at Exova’s Salford laboratory, said: “We have had a long working partnership with Tata Steel and this means we understand its emphasis on the highest quality standards, and we are well-versed in the specific requirements it has for its testing programme. It’s the close working relationship with Tata Steel’s technical team that that helps us to meet these high standards, while also improving overall efficiency and turnaround.” - TradeArabia News Service
